The feldenkrais method

A HOLISTIC LEARNING

IMPROVE MOVEMENT, IMPROVE LIFE

Holistic comes from the Greek word Holos, meaning “entire” or “all”.

Body and mind are concepts. Research is showing more and more everyday that there are not such separate entities.

They are intricately woven.

Our physical movements, sensations, thoughts and feelings  are in constant interactions.

Improve one of them, and you will improve the others.

Moshe Feldenkrais choose to work on movement, "because it is almost impossible to change what we think, difficult to change our emotions, or change our sensations, but through movement we can easily change the quality of how we move."

Working on movements is the easiest and quickest way to learn and to change.

Which had become much needed today, in a fast changing world, and with us living longer.

MINDFULNESS IN ACTION

How do you improve the way you move ?

First by paying attention to what you are doing. You turn off your auto pilot, and listen to your sensations in resting  and in movements.

And because there is a lot going on when you move, you slow down and stay in you confort zone, to reduce the flow of information.

Then by playing with many variations of the movement, again focusing on what you sense. '

You will expand your repertoire of movements, and the more efficients  one will replace the unfitted onest

LEARNING HOW TO LEARN

The essence of the Feldenkrais Method is to learn how to learn, so we can adapt to our ever changing environnement. And learning has to be fun, and interesting.

The illiterates of the 21 century will not be the one that not know how to read and write, but the ones who don't know to learn, de -learn and re-learn. Alvin Toffler

THE ART OF WELL BEING

With the Feldenkrais Method, you are learning to use yourself in the most efficient way possible.

So moving, being into the world, will be a pleasure, not a discomfort.

It's finding your own personal manual, so you can take care of yourself and take your life into your own hands.
